How much is recording?
Our recording costs are £40.00 per hour or £260.00 for an 8 hour day of recording (1 and 1/2 hours free!!)
What does that price include?
£40 an hour includes all our equipment (control room, a wide range of mics, use of our live room and our in-house engineer for the whole session )
I've got beats - what software do you use?
We have Logic or Pro Tools so we can import your beats/tracks in to either.
What kit do you have in Alaska Studio?

We've got a big band - how many people can fit in to Alaska Studio?
We've had groups of 9 people in the Live room (including drums), recording live as a big band. If there are more of you, we could always record different groups in sections.
How much time will we need to mix?
The time it takes to mix depends on how many tracks are in each song and how long the song is. Generally, for a 4 piece band, it will take approx. 3 hours to mix a track properly.
Can we come back at a later date to mix?
Of course! Lots of bands/singers choose to allocate a day to just record all the material and then come back on a different day with fresh ears to mix. We can send you away with a rough mix on the day of your recording so you can take it home and give it a listen. This will give you a chance to see if you're completely happy with the arrangement or if you've recorded multiple live takes, pick your favourite (if you didn't already).
Can Alaska master my track?
We do offer mastering as a service. If you've recorded the track here, at another studio or in your bedroom, the process of mastering really polishes the track and gives it a very professional sound that will translate to any device, be it laptop speakers or a PA in a club.
Do you have session musicians at Alaska Studio?
We have a long list of session musicians at hand that can help you achieve the sound you want. We have good contacts with orchestral musicians and also, we have musicians in-house that are session pianist, guitarists, drummers and (female) singers so if you're recording and decide the track would benefit from a live sound, we can help you achieve that straight away.
How do I book a recording session?
Call us on 0207 928 7440 and we can check availability. Once you've decided on a date, we require 1/3 of the price as deposit to book the date and the rest is payable on the day.
